What is a Coaching Consult Call?

The coaching consult call sometimes called a discovery call, an assessment call, an exploration call, or a sales call is used by many top coaches to make sure that they are working with the right people. The right people are the ones who they can help and who they know are capable of getting results. The call benefits the person looking to hire a coach as well as the coach.

If you’re unsure if coaching is right for you, a consult call will allow you to find out everything you need to make a confident decision either way.

The difference between a coaching call and a coaching consult call:

A coaching consult call does not involve any coaching. Coaching is reserved for clients once a decision has been officially made to work with the coach. The consult call is a container for the coach and the potential client to find out if it’s the right fit.

How a Coaching Consult Call Benefits You – What you will find out

  • Learn how your current situation would be framed from a coaching perspective
  • Find out the solution to your problem (that’s right, you get the answer upfront)
  • Discover what steps would be taken through the  coaching process to get you there
  • Get a sense of the coach’s coaching style
  • Get clarity on what results you can expect to get.
  • Investigate the time and financial investments
  • Decide if you want to commit to the process

Coaches want their clients to get results. Although the coaching consult call is a sales call, an experienced coach is not focused on “making the sale”, the coach is focused on helping you make the decision that’s in your best interest.

You might be better off with therapy or a different style of coaching. It’s common for coaches to refer potential clients to other services or other coaches if they don’t believe that they can help you get the results you want.

What a Coach is Looking For on a Coaching Consult:

  • What specifically is not working for you or what are you unsatisfied with right now
  • How much clarity do you have on what you want short term and long term
  • What have you already tried
  • What assumptions are you making about coaching – are they accurate
  • How do you think about things and make decisions and how is this impacting you
  • Can I coach this person and are they open to coaching
  • Is this coaching the best solution to help you get from where you are to where you want to be

Making decisions is an important part of coaching, which is why your decision about coaching is the first step of the process. The call is to help you feel grounded and confident in either committing to a “yes”, or deciding it’s a “no”.

We don’t want you to waste time in indecision, and we don’t want people to start coaching either ambivalent or only half-in. Open-minded skepticism is awesome, and to test out if something works you need to commit to the process.

We want to coach people who really want it and who we know we can help!

Take the first step and book a consult call to see if the Kickstartology Alignment Coaching Program is what you’re looking for.

P.S. If you want some help figuring out the next part, book a free coaching exploration call. We’ll talk about what’s going on and figure out if it fits. No pressure. Just clarity.
