Being Coached is Like…
I’m not a cook and I’m always amazed at those people who know what they’re doing in a kitchen… which lead me to this thought:
Coaching is like having a master chef come into your kitchen, look at all the ingredients and tools, and then help you create something you didn’t even know was possible
… but for your life.
You can be smart, educated, resourceful, and driven, but still just skimming the surface of the potential available to you when you keep doing things the way you’ve always done them.
This happens because when something is familiar we stop examining it with curiosity. We fall into autopilot, missing the hidden possibilities in our own unique set of skills and experiences. And then, when we want to make changes, we default to thinking that we need “more” – more effort, more knowledge, more discipline… it’s exhausting and will keep you feeling stuck.
I’ve coached so many women who come in believing that they need to be more perfect to get the results that they want, and I can confirm that this is never the solution. Or they think they need to find the perfect planning tool, get another degree or just change every single habit starting Monday, when there’s a much easier way to get the results they want.
Coaching is not about adding more to your plate, it’s about mastering and building on what’s already there. It’s about challenging blindspots and reigniting your curiosity to combine existing ingredients – your strengths, resources, and experiences – into a new outcome.
Having a life coach is energizing and keeps you accountable. It makes you feel alive because you’re committing to going all in. And it teaches you to be more accountable to yourself.
This is for you if you want to unlock and explode your potential because you know you’re capable of more.
You already have the ingredients, it’s time to make new things.
