“You’re not the only one who feels this way. So move. Do it.” ~Sukeina Jethabhai
When she first came to Kickstartology, Sukeina Jethabhai had a loving family with whom she’d moved across the country, and though she had a solid career in the corporate world, she came to us wanting to level up to a new, more fulfilling job.
But as is common in our line of work, once we start digging, true desires emerge. The truth was that Sukeina really wanted to be seen for her building and interior design talents. After crafting a more aligned vision and self-image, being recognized by a national design magazine became her star goal. Having designed and renovated several homes in Western Canada with her husband, the Jethabhais tore down an old bungalow and built themselves a stunning new showpiece home in Thornhill, Ontario. Through Kickstartology’s incredible community of women, another client made an introduction to an editor at Canada’s best-known design magazine, House & Home. Alignment, right?
Except, like many women, Sukeina kept holding herself back due to her inner critic (some call this Imposter Syndrome). Thankfully, using the tools and alignment framework from Kickstartology, Sukeina followed did the uncomfortable—calling H&H and introducing herself and her work—and achieved her goal.
“This past month, my home was featured on House & Home‘s YouTube channel. This was a dream-come-true /bucket list item for me,” says Sukeina. “I don’t think I could have achieved it without the mindset work and support from the 1:1 coaching with Stephanie and Kickstartology Coaching. The group coaching not only provided me with tools to believe my dream was possible but also the professional network leading to the right connections.” (I think reading the comments was almost as delightful as watching the video.)
Oh, and sidebar: while in Kickstartology, she also got a new, better-paying job! Sukeina stopped into Reset Lab earlier this year to chat with us about her experience with Kickstartology. Watch to learn how she went from being riddled with self-doubt to becoming a curious risk-taker and an up-and-coming design star. We’re so proud!
You might have wondered what actually changes for those who go through our program. “Sure, Steph and Nadine, all this stuff about less mind drama and following through sounds good. But what do the results really look like?” Well, the results look a lot like Sukeina. They look like Sukeina claiming her place as a talented designer! Much like she did, it’s about doing the work to show up for yourself and your dreams even when it’s uncomfortable—despite your inner voice screaming that you’re not the person to do it.
So what’s your secret desire? What would you go for if you weren’t getting in your own way? Maybe you’re not ready to scream it from the rooftops yet, but if you think you might whisper it to us, book an exploration call.
P.S. Find out how to work with me if you're ready to break the patterns keeping you stuck and get out of your own way: Let's talk.
