What’s the Difference Between One-on-One Coaching and Group Coaching?

One on one coaching (also called personal coaching or private coaching) is limited to weekly zoom sessions with just you and the coach. In the group coaching program there are weekly group lessons and coaching sessions, a member portal with specialized content, a private Facebook group, as well as access to one-on-one mini sessions as needed and weekly personalized feedback.

Time Commitments of Private Coaching vs. Group Coaching

The group coaching program is a six-month commitment, one-on-one coaching packages begin at four months.

In the group program it’s expected that during the six months, your life will be busy, there may be vacations planned, and sometimes life gets in the way, so all sessions are recorded in case you need to catch up.

Is Group Coaching Cheaper than Individual Coaching?

The Kickstartology group coaching program is less expensive than personal coaching, but the value is in whichever is going to get you the best results.

Is Individual Coaching Better than Group Coaching?

Group coaching and one-on-one coaching are both powerful and results-driven.

Some people fear that in a group coaching program, their exact situation won’t be addressed but a good group coaching program is going to provide the support you need and will often create faster results.

When people are considering coaching they often believe that because their specific circumstances are unique they won’t benefit as much from group coaching. Still, group coaching helps us get beyond the current context faster.

You get to define who you are. Your problems and obstacles will always be unique to you because you experience them in the specificity of the context of your life.

You are coached on who you are today and who you want to become. The work is to learn how to apply the principles and tools to your current life. As such there are advantages to group coaching that can’t be replicated in a one-on-one setting.

The Benefits of Group Coaching vs One-on-One Coaching

In group coaching, you have access to more brains. Seeing other people be coached, even on something seemingly unrelated to your situation, will help you recognize your own patterns. These pivotal insights can be missed when the focus is solely on you because you are too close to your own narrative.

Furthermore, seeing others get out of their comfort zones and take big steps is not only inspiring, but it reminds us of what’s possible. Watching others get unstuck and seeing how much of an impact our thoughts and decisions can have and how quickly we can make massive shifts makes it feel safer to do the same. Self-Comparison in Group vs. One-on-One Coaching

Don’t let this fear decide for you. If you’re worried that comparing yourself to others is going to distract you from coaching, this habit is likely impacting your decisions in other facets of your life. In Kickstartology, the coaching process will help you work through that you stop you from getting in your own way.

The Kickstartology process, based on our Alignment Coaching Framework, is simple and effective. Through the twelve modules of the Kickstartology Program (which we go through twice with live lessons, live coaching, check-ins, and assigned thought work), you can find the patterns that aren’t working for you. You’ll identify why you are caught in them and find new approaches to make shifts towards a life that thrills you.

The Power of Group Coaching

Group coaching offers the added benefit of an entire collective that can provide motivation, support, and accountability in pursuing life goals. It provides a forum to develop the courage and confidence necessary to take the next steps toward achieving those goals while still being able to rely on the individual attention received in one-on-one coaching. With group coaching, you have access to a supportive community that is rooting for your success.
